The Log Cabin is located on the side of Mt. Tom in Holyoke, MA. It’s a scenic, westerly facing location, overlooking the valley below. In autumn, the trees will be alive with amber hues!

Fox and Ember is, in part, a fan-driven celebration of the works of Sarah J. Maas! To that end, our cast is inspired by familiar characters.
The High Lord - @thecrownofcasper
The High Lady - @prettypeachbuns
Lord of Foxes - to be revealed…
Lady Deathbringer - to be revealed…
Lord of Bloodshed - to be revealed…

Expect vendors, performances, and plenty of games!
Oh, hey there. Michael (left) and Kitty (right) are an indie duo who spend most of their time, and all of their energy, pursuing the things we love. Together, we run a small candle business out of our basement (our scents are dope af,) and Michael (better known as Wrel) also writes his own TTRPGs!
The Fox and Ember Fantasy Ball came about because, frankly, we had a lot of fun at the Starfall Solstice in 2025 (that’s where the picture on the right is from!) and were saddened that there wasn’t going to be another one this year.
Instead of LANGUISHING IN MISERY, we decided to host an event of our own. Right here in Western Massachusetts, and just in time for Sarah J. Maas to drop another book on us.
Anyway. Thank you for all the support, and for giving us another excuse to be nerds in public!
(Separately, if you’re interested. Here are the links to the rest of our nonsense!)
Quest & Candle - Our little candle shop!
Distal - a d20 system focused on hardships, not heroes
Gossamer Frontier - a witchy, sci-fantasy solo-TTRPG with romance

PurchaseWhat’s a Fantasy Ball?
It’s a reason to dress up like you’re part of your favorite fantasy world, while enjoying a safe night of festivities with like-minded folks. In our case, we’re taking thematic beats from the “A Court of Thorns and Roses” (ACOTAR) series by Sarah J. Maas. (Disclaimer: Fox and Ember is an unofficial fan event, not affiliated with Sarah J. Maas or Bloomsbury Publishing.) At the Fox and Ember Fantasy Ball, there will be music and entertainment, costumed performers, a dedicated dance floor, drinks and food, games, local vendors, and plenty of people to get to know.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are $180 - $280, depending on how early you get them. Early bird discounts are first-come first-served. Click below to grab your tickets!
Purchase TicketsHow are refunds handled?
If the event is cancelled for any reason, tickets are refunded for everyone. If the event is on, but you can’t make it, we can issue a refund. Just send us a message, and we’ll take care of you… The caveat is for the crappy people who try to reserve tickets and sell them at a higher price. No love for that.
Who can attend? What about pets?
The event is only for human adults of ages 21 and up. Unfortunately, your dogs, cats, lizards, birds, and companion creatures in general will be unable to join us for the festivities.
What’s the food and drink situation?
Cash bar for alcoholic beverages (ie. you go to the bar and pay for your own drink.) For food, it’s a catered buffet with a broad range, so there will be all sorts of exciting foodstuffs at no extra cost (it’s rolled into the ticket price.) There will be vegetarian and gluten free options, and we’ll be taking in feedback from all of you to round out the menu.
Hotel blocks and transportation?
There are a few hotel blocks available, and we share the discount links with folks who’ve purchased tickets. We’re still looking at the possibility for a shuttle service, but there is ample parking at the venue for personal vehicles. If you’re flying in for the event, Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut is our suggested airport. It’s easy to navigate, and about 30 minutes from the venue.
